Plenty of family still in the northern tundra of upstate NY, but here in FL it is just me, the furry Maggie and all of my friends that make up my family.


Strongest or Favorite of the Three Events (Swim/Bike/Run):

I am definitely a more terrestrial triathlete and my strongest of the three events is the run for me.


Have you played sports competitively in the past:

I was an active soccer player through my entire childhood and adolescents, as well as basketball, golf and track.

Family sports background:

Most of my siblings played soccer and basketball as well.

Top sports accomplishments:

Completing my first Ironman!!!


Game-day routines/superstitions:

Always take an Ambien the night before a race to make sure I get enough sleep, and find the port-o-jon farthest way from transition because it’s less likely to be as dirty as the closer ones.

My sports fantasy:

Qualify for the Boston Marathon and Kona in my lifetime.

The Central Florida Tri Club and our dynamic coach Hector Torres.

Focus on my short course races and ultimately race at Kona.

Office Space, Dumb and Dumber, Shawshank Redemption, Silence of the Lambs, Hoosiers, and the best sports movie of all time… Rudy.

Ralph Waldo Emerson: The bard of individualism, he relied on himself, and told us to do the same.

If I could be anybody for a day, I’d be:

I’m happy with myself.


If I could travel in time, I’d go:

Spend more time with my grandfather before he passed.

If I won the lottery, the first thing I’d do:

Pay off my graduate school loans.

Track speed workout

Whatever will make me go faster and longer!

In Orlando it would be Luma on Park Ave, in my travels it would be a small Churrascaria in Porto Alegre Brazil.

Somewhere I’ve never been before.

Knowing we do more and go harder by 7 am, that most people will do all week long.
